This explains what The Women's View ("TWV", "we") collects when you use the app, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Account details: email address, first and last name, optional phone number, date of birth, username, school or team, bio and the sports you follow.
- Your content and activity: videos, captions, comments, likes, saves, follows, blocks, reports, bounty entries, live-stream chat, and which videos you watch.
- Payment details: the PayPal email or similar details you give us when you request a payout.
- Technical data: IP address, device and app information, and push notification settings if you turn notifications on.
What other people can see
Your username, profile, videos and comments are visible to other users. Your email, name, phone number and date of birth are private and aren't shown to other users.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, show your videos, rank your feed, and let you follow, comment and enter bounties.
- To pay prizes and handle payouts.
- To keep people safe: handle reports, stop spam and fraud, and enforce our rules.
- To email you sign-in codes and important service messages.
We don't sell your personal information, and the app doesn't show third-party ads.
Who helps us run TWV
We use these providers, who process data on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (storing, processing, streaming and delivering videos), DigitalOcean (servers and database), Brevo (sending email), and PayPal (payouts). Your data is stored in the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile details are removed and your videos are taken down. We may keep limited records, such as reports and payout history, where needed for safety, tax or legal reasons.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. You can delete your account in Settings, or email team@thewomensview.com for any request. If you are in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
TWV is only for people aged 18 and over. If you think someone under 18 has an account, email us and we'll remove it.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure. If we make important changes to this policy, we'll tell you in the app or by email.
